Sad Stories: Liliana Crociati

First special post about one of the photos I've mentioned:

Liliana Crociati was the daughter of a famous hairdresser, Italian painter and poet. She was 26 when she died in Innsbruck, in 1970, when she was on her honeymoon. An avalanche struck the hotel where they stayed. She died suffocated by their own clothes in the snow.
That same day, 14.000 miles away accross the ocean, also died Sabu, her dog. He was healthy but he died, suddenly, as if he knew she had passed away too.

The bronze sculpture shows Liliana wearing her wedding dress, her engagement ring and accompanied by her beloved pet. Liliana's mother demanded that her tomb was decorated just like a replica of what was once her room.
You may recognize her coffin from the entrance as this is partially covered by a red Tsari she bought on a trip to India.

Her father commanded to carve a poem in Italian marble on the walls of the tomb ...

"My daughter, I just wonder why you've gone and left my heart broken. That only loved you, why would you? Why? Only fate knows why and I wonder why? Why can not live without you, why? You were so beautiful that nature, envious, destroyed you, why? Why, I wonder if there is one God, takes away what is not theirs. Why shatters and leaves to infinity the pain! Why, I think the destination and not you, why? Why always only dream of you, why mention it? For all the love I feel in my heart for you. Why? Why? Your dad ..."
